The chassis is finally done and I'm starting on the bottom rails which will be the foundation of the roll cage. They also tie the front suspension into the rear suspension, giving the car a solid base to confront the rigors off-road racing.
This is my first time ever bending tubes or attempting to build a roll cage. I'm using my really cool tube bender from Affordable Bender. It was really easy to use and I highly recommend it. Also I measured all the angles with protractors I got from Harbor Freight for about $15.
Honestly, it was pretty tough to get it all right, but several hours later it's done and looks pretty good. From here, I'll finish the rest of the lower parts of the car until I have a rolling chassis. Then, we'll put the body back on and do the rest of the roll cage.
Austin wants to use your tools and know how to build another car so we could race each other! When are you available?
